A standing room audience of more than 150 publishers attended the Book Manufacturers Institute’s seminar on How to Improve Your Supply Chain. Featured speakers were John Galligan of Bradford & Bigelow, Kent Larson of Bridgeport National, and Andrew Van Sprang of Maple Press.

Key points B&B’s President, John Galligan, made were that book publishers should partner with book printers that understand the market and have the scale, efficiency, and burst capacity publishers need to turn reprints quickly, not diversified printers who do catalogs, magazines, journals, direct mail, financial, with fixed mailing dates.

Galligan also recommended book publishers simplify their supply chain with fewer printers who can offer more services. These services would include 1-4C offset and digital printing, perfect, saddle, coil and case binding from one plant with one CSR, and warehousing and distribution services that eliminate economically and environmentally wasteful transportation costs and time delays.

This is the Supply Chain Platform and Value Package B&B offers to our clients.
